Wilkes pointed out the best way to assault the light house would be from the beach. As we round the beach Wilkes notices some figures exiting the cliff face up ahead of us. We sneak up as best as we can and we see a breached portcullis covering a cave entrance. Following the cave, in the dark, we can hear voices up ahead, they hear us as well because the tone of their conversation changes.
We decide to charge. Melee ensues with these weird fish/frog things (Kuo-Toa). They are easily dispatched. Ahead we see a ladder. The majool wraps a grappling hook around his waist and leads Dan up. I lead Wilkes and Crevan up the ladder. It is 150’ to the top. There is an unlocked trap door at the top that leads to a storeroom.
We exit the storeroom, ahead we see the main door which has been barred and a set of stairs leading up. We take the stairs but not before Chase casts silence on the Majools helm. We head up the stairs in darkness and silence. Bypassing the second level we explore the 3, we come upon 2 rooms of sleeping fish/frog things and butcher them.
We head to the fourth floor. Opening the door we see the chieftain with dual scimitars and his bodyguard with tridents. The battle is joined.
Grievous blows land back and forth. I finally remember the rusty trombone and the Majool finally remembers to rage. Each party member is fulfilling their role. Wilkes is looking to plant is blades in backs, Crevan is pin-cushioning everything, I’m blasting away after casting weakness at the chieftain, the Majool is trading blows with the chieftain and Chase is desperately trying to keep everyone alive.
We take down one body guard but then we hear more frog things on the steps, another bodyguard and 3 more redshirts come up the stairs.
The fish things are gaining the upper hand, scoring many critical hits. A body guard goes down along with a red shirt. Then the Majool goes down, Chase casts close wounds and keeps him up for one more round. The Majool goes down for good after a huge blow from the chieftain. Thankfully the chieftain is wounded and is taken out the next round. Wilkes goes down next, then the last bodyguard, followed by Chase. It is Crevan and I left with two red shirts and I am at deaths door.
I decide to shoot the Kuo-Toa on Crevan, killing it and going down myself in the process.
Crevan fires at the final fish thing, wounding it only. Its riposte is not enough to take out Crevan, who responds with the killing blow.
The party cleans up gathers treasure and will heal up…..
